Monica Wendel

There is salt on my hair and on my skin.
In late afternoon I eat, finally, cold food
from the fridge, bubbling soda can.
We make a play. We touch ourselves.
I am never alone. When will you learn
to accept things as they are?
I am talking to myself again.
I am telling stories in which I save you.
